Orienteering

Our little family packed up and headed for the mountains to set up an Orienteering course for Dave's boyscout camp out on May 10th. Dave had been working diligently on getting his scouts to get an Orienteering merit badge. Kylie and I decided that we didn't want to miss out on all the fun so we came along. We drove up to the resort and it was raining so we had a picnic in the car and then ventured out just in time for the rain to stop. Dave had placed candy in containers as "treasures" to be found throughout the campsite and confirmed the destination with a GPS tracking system. Dave had Kylie in a front pack so I was the one who snuck in between trees and cobwebs to make sure the scouts couldn't find there prize easily. We had previously discovered it was the Scout Masters birthday so Dave made the final destination dedicated to celebrating his birthday. The final "treasure" was filled with candles and his favorite treat that his wife had provided. The leader was completely surprised and from what I heard it seemed like a fun and successful scout trip. It was a small thing but I loved being a little part of Dave's calling and making fun memories.

K from Sweden,

Laura, Sharisse and I (and the husbands) are going to the Mandarin next Wednesday at 7:00 for dinner. Want to come? I think the other girls are getting babysitters. If you are interested we would SO love for you all to be there. Hopefully not too far of a drive from Ogden? Sharisse may be calling you.
