I have received several requests for pictures so I thought I would put it on the blog. Thanks to Claudy, Wendy and Scott for pleading enough to make me post some pictures. It was a fabulous vacation and I'll never forget seeing the Nepal Coast, whale watching, hiking, sight seeing, snorkeling, bike riding, luau entertainment, Puka Dog eatin, down pour of rain and sunshine. Thanks to everyone who helped watch our kids so we could go on this fabulous trip! Brayden James Auger was born on November 17th at 12:45pm. He weighed 7lbs 3oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. The nurse said he has big feet and a big head. The delivery went well and Brayden is doing great. He had a mild case of Jandice and has been under the billie lights but is looking less yellow everyday. He has been such a joy to have in our family. Kylie can't stop kissing and hugging the little guy. I hope he can survive all the smothering. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SxK4lY1JCcI/AAAAAAAAAcE/lAkWKlKw5Mc/s320/11+20+09+030.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5409589054885398978" /><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SxK4kyh5HII/AAAAAAAAAb8/z2DSzh9MLdM/s320/11+20+09+023.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5409589044604116098" /><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SxK4l0oWYgI/AAAAAAAAAcM/TE-pb2XGrAI/s320/11+21+09+005.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5409589062347940354" />

Baby #2

Were excited to report that #2 baby is on its way! We appologize for the lack of posts but appreciate the continous reminders, naggs, and even tantrums to continue our blogging habits. Special thanks to Catherine, Karen, and Rachel.
A picture says a million words. Dave and I bought a bike trailor for Kylie. We were so excited we tried to fit in as many trips as we could before winter hit. Kylie seemed to enjoy it and we found her smiling all the way down the path throughout Ogden. Dave had the genius idea of strapping her favorite friend, her stuffed animal "Bear", in the passenger seat. We can't wait to wear the trailor out next year!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 319px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SXk7Ann4P3I/AAAAAAAAAZU/Pbk58XziqDU/s320/dave+and+kylie+biking.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5294327718773014386" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 245px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SXk7ATfR7XI/AAAAAAAAAZM/mewkcwbibaQ/s320/family+of+bikers.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5294327713368239474" />
There has been a few days this winter that Kylie and I have been stuck in the house due to so much snow. Kylie doesn't seem to mind and loves playing in it. There has been several days that within 10 minutes of waking up she's giving me the sign that she wants to go outside. She just hasn't learned that I'm not up for going out in my PJ's yet.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 262px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SXk8wcEHo3I/AAAAAAAAAZs/IvUk8N--e7g/s320/Kylie+and+snow.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5294329639815586674" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 224px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SXk8vwkhKlI/AAAAAAAAAZk/ZCBU_8KB2q0/s320/first+time+w+dad+in+snow.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5294329628140317266" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SXk8viLR_QI/AAAAAAAAAZc/hVcov8aceGo/s320/discovering+snow+1st+time.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5294329624276368642" />
The reason why I haven't been blogging is that I have been so involved with my Scentsy business. I have had about 3 formal parties and at least 3 basket parties a month ever since I've started. It has been so much fun and so much more successful than I ever expected. It has been a huge blessing and outlet for me as a stay at home mom. I love the excuse to socialize, love the challenge of reaching goals, and love thinking of new ideas that help my business succeed. It has been so much fun that it has kept me up at night on serveral occassions thinking of new ways to make it succeed. It has been a lot of fun.<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 113px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SXlF6efo_3I/AAAAAAAAAak/UVznKLZJuso/s400/moms+scentsy+party.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5294339707871231858" />Dave really enjoys fishing. Dave has spent several days at the lake looking for fish this year with some of his friends. This is a picture of him and his friend Nate Jones fishing at Strawberry Resiviour.<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 205px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SXlBPriuKJI/AAAAAAAAAZ0/LUNVitOgETc/s320/strawberry+res..jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5294334574592927890" />
I love Christmas traditions. One of my very favorite one is when Santa comes to the Mills house and gives us all presents. Who can complain about that? We sing songs, eat to much, and even have a little program where the kids can display some of there talents. Its always a highlight of the season even though Kylie is afraid of the guy with the long white beard. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SXlC58yAYyI/AAAAAAAAAaE/IjAvtIHiv3w/s320/dave+on+santas+lap+08.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5294336400286573346" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 262px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SXlC5RDNbGI/AAAAAAAAAZ8/PJK62PSfjGg/s320/santa+party+08.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5294336388547570786" />
Christmas was great this year as we spent it in Pocatello. Kylie particully loved it because she could chase the cat and play with her cousin Sidney all day. She couldn't keep a smile off her face once she woke up and saw that Sidney was there. She also thrived on seeing her cousin Rigdon and just couldn't get enough hugs from him. It was fun to see Dave's Grandpa dedicate a Christmas song as his gift to Helen during the Christmas Eve program. It was so neat that he decide to give her a gift of song for Christmas since he didn't have any money. Kylie enjoyed the company so much over Christmas that she seemed depressed after having been surrounded by cousins. I had to quickly get some playgroups together after we came home to fill the void. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 237px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SXlFJPgT6AI/AAAAAAAAAaM/eirIHO48F9Q/s320/Christmas+08.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5294338862033922050" />
Kylie is learning the names of all the features of her face and finds it particully interesting that there are two holes the can fit tiny objects in them. Her newest trick is to put corn up her nose. I left for 2 seconds the other day while she was eating lunch and found peas had been stuffed in her little nostrils. She seems to find trouble wherever she goes. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 130px; height: 92px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SXlJlHGM4tI/AAAAAAAAAbE/wz4C8yFk5VQ/s320/07dc3a66ab80e37e%5B1%5D.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5294343738859774674" />
Dave turned 35! We tried celebrating all week! On his birthday we ended up going to Brook Mills blessing in Salt Lake and on Monday we got together with some of Dave's old college roommates for some official birthday celebrating. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 384px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SXlGbr5USII/AAAAAAAAAas/bwzKsJ5JXy4/s400/Daves+35+birthday.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5294340278404270210" />
Kylie got her first haircut by a proffessional today. Our friend, Robin Norman, has a salon in her home so we headed up North to get her a haircut. I bribed her with all of her favorite things to help her stay as still as possible. She did a pretty good job considering she's one. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 256px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SXlH3lmStjI/AAAAAAAAAa8/jcuRrL0KIow/s320/kylie+haircut+w+Robin_edited-1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5294341857261827634" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 295px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SXlH3SThshI/AAAAAAAAAa0/CgCcWAC6tdU/s320/kylies+first+haircut.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5294341852082844178" />

My Biggest Fan

Dave is a wonderful support. Ever since I have become a Scentsy consultant he has watched Kylie more than his fair share and has spent more of his personal money on Scentsy than I'm sure he ever imagined. After my first Launch Off Party Dave decided to order a warmer for his office, one as a wedding present, and a bunch of scents for his office. He was ordering so many scents that I questioned him and asked why he needed so many especially when he was using his personal money. He quickly replied that he needed several scents if he was going to show people at his office. I was touched by his generosity especially when he was planning on using that money for a fishing trip. That night Dave ended up being my biggest order. I'm continually amazed at his love and support. I am one lucky girl to have him.<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 278px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SQ32hRRsXOI/AAAAAAAAAUg/sCCfsmUru0g/s320/ky+and+dave.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5264134590899707106" />

Scentsy

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SPuM10ReDuI/AAAAAAAAAUQ/_VX5fhbwX44/s320/scentsy_favorites%5B1%5D.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5258951846078058210" />I recently have signed up to be a Scentsy Consultant and it has taken off! Scentsy is wickless candle company that sells a variety of candles through party planning. They have warmers, plug-in's, room sprays and car candles. You can order by calling me or order it right off my website and they will send it directly to you. Check out the site to see more.

www.scentsy.com/kierstinscandles

I'm so excited about my new venture that I have to tell you about it. These candles are so great! First, they are so good for families. My neighbors 2 year old put her entire hand in the wax and did not cry. The wax is melted by a 25 watt light bulb through a warmer so the wax gets just above body temperature so it won't burn. Second, its much better environmentally. After the smell goes away after 60-80 hours the wax is still there instead of being burned into the atmosphere. Due to the wax being melted at such a low temperature the wax is not placed in our breathing space. Even those who have had allergies to scents find they can have Scentsy in there home. Next, instead of re-buying glass candles you can buy refills for $5 which is much more cost effective! It also works great in offices due to the candles being flame less and having less worries about having a fire. The candles can be left on 24/7 and can be used as a night light. There is over 80 scents and some great ones that you don't want to miss for the holidays.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SPuNOq5T2XI/AAAAAAAAAUY/7BeMutbONq8/s320/basket+party.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5258952273057536370" />Please call or visit my home to smell the new scents. We have a warmer and scent of the month that is always 10% off. We do formal and informal home parties. Our informal party is where I send you a basket of scents to your home and you inform your neighbors and friends of the scents you have and they can order from you and then you get all the free items as if you had a formal party. If you don't like having parties at your home you will love all the free things you can get. Please give me a call and I would love to answer any of your questions and talk with you all about my new adventure!

Happy Birthday Kylie

Happy Birthday Kylie! Josh and some of his friends stayed overnight so our party became even bigger.
Kylie is a big fan of teddy bears so I had made her a special teddy bear cake. I was unsure how she would respond but knew there was a chance she would hug it just like she does with her stuffed animals. When she reached for the cake everyone broke into such loud laughter that she was taken back and became bashful. She later became more intested but didn't seem to want to eat it. We later gave her a piece of the softer cake for her first real taste of sugar. Kylie was spoiled with gifts and especially with teddy bears. We had asked everyone not to bring gifts but somehow 4 teddy bears showed up and a couple of bows with an outfit. The Benoits came and brought a stuffed animal bear that was as big as Kylie's parents. We thought she would dive into its arms but instead she kept her distance. Still to this day she is trying to warm up to the idea of a life size bear.
We appreciate all the love and support you have shown us. This year has been such a wonderful year full of growing experiences. We love our little Kylie Jean and look forward to many more happy memories together.<IMG id=BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5256448065316584530 style="DISPLAY: block; We heard a huge noise behind us and then the car next to us was hit and then ran into our vehicle. Everyone in all vehicles seemed to by alright. Dave was smart enough to have left enough room between cars so we didn't run into the car in front of us. It was right after Stake Conference so our Home Teachers, several neighbors, and the Relief Society President all stopped to see if we were okay. We even received a text from our friend Joel, who lives in Brigham City, 30 minutes after the accident asking if we were okay. We were later harassed that we weren't listening to the prayer when they stated to be careful when driving home. That will make me think twice before I spend most of Stake Conference in the hallway and missing the prayer! Well we really felt blessed and watched over. It could have been much worse and were grateful for everyones concerns. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SOBLqI6wpjI/AAAAAAAAASc/jtyToFDqYUI/s200/IMG_2939.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5251280352834528818" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SOBLql5x2RI/AAAAAAAAASk/1j3HxChta0Y/s200/IMG_2941_edited-1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5251280360615041298" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SOBLq47XuXI/AAAAAAAAASs/nGLv6enEhGA/s200/IMG_2943.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5251280365721991538" />

Welcome Home Elder Auger

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SNcFQuFqVvI/AAAAAAAAARE/kGvjvNmurtc/s320/josh_edited-1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248669675531425522" />Dave's brother Josh just returned home from serving a mission in Micronesia-Guam. Elder Auger had a 6 hour layover in Salt Lake before he headed to Pocatello so we met him at the airport and took him to breakfast. We anxiously waited for him bright and early so we could give him a warm welcome. He had warned us previously in an email that he would not be hugging any girls at the airport. Well, I didn't think that applied to me, for one, because I am his sister-in-law, and two, because I am a woman not a "girl." The moment I saw him I couldn't resist but go up to him and give him a hug. It quickly became a side hug and I heard a big "ugg" coming from the poor Elder. I guess the hugging email applied to relatives as well. I have though I was impressed with his efforts to be obedient to the mission rules.

Last weekend we headed to Pocatello for his Homecoming Talk. It was so nice to hear about his mission experiences and to feel of his good spirit. Both Dave and I have been so impressed with who he has become and for his dedication in the field. Well done Elder Auger and Welcome Home. <img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SNcF6etrVTI/AAAAAAAAARc/s8Rpwc_mYug/s200/airport+w+josh.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248670392958801202" />
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SNcF6kZx66I/AAAAAAAAARk/hI-apqxfQqE/s200/josh+and+kylie_edited-1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248670394485959586" />

Have My Cake and Eat It Too

So my friend Brenda and I signed ourselves up for a cake decorating class at Michael's. It is so much fun except there's only one problem. CAKE! We are always making frosting and of course we have to eat our homework. We placed a #1 on our first cake so we would be able to see the difference from our last to our first.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SOBCoZ7k0sI/AAAAAAAAARs/PA_LU1xj5vg/s320/1+cake.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5251270427436962498" />This past week was the final cake we made in class. Don't ask me what went wrong but gravity seemed to be working against me. My frosting was yellow instead of white, runny instead of firm and the cake was crooked instead of straight. After baking, making the frosting, and decorating for 8 hours I wanted to have a cake fight in my kitchen. I was caked out! It didn't turn out as good as I hoped but at least it didn't taste that bad.<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SOBDFaz8xPI/AAAAAAAAAR0/nPzL_yFH9OE/s320/Last+Cake+Decor+Class+Sept+08_edited-1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5251270925889619186" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SOBDF4nwBOI/AAAAAAAAAR8/S_K1r976NZI/s320/Brenda%27s+cake_edited-1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5251270933891515618" />

Lunch with Loved Ones

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SNb5e2uXgQI/AAAAAAAAAQk/wZ25x7GQ5kE/s320/IMG_1334.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248656724228276482" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SNb5eg7e29I/AAAAAAAAAQc/wSuOKg2aGRQ/s320/IMG_1338.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248656718377704402" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SNb5fLQFO-I/AAAAAAAAAQs/bhTQkfPsqAo/s320/IMG_1331.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248656729738394594" />I love it when family and friends come and visit. When Kylie was 2 months old her Great Grandpa and Grandma Vermillion were visiting my parents from Arizona and decided to drive a little further to come have lunch with Kylie and I while Dave was at work. It was so fun to have lunch with Kylie's Great Grandparents and Grandma and have them all get acquainted for the first time. Recently my Aunt Dee from Arizona came up with my mom to visit and meet Kylie as well. We had the same lunch and had them same good time as we had with the Great Grandparents. We had such a nice time and it was great to show off our little miracle.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SNb5zR8_S3I/AAAAAAAAAQ0/Qsw2f8W786s/s320/k,k+and+dee.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248657075134745458" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SNb5znnEtqI/AAAAAAAAAQ8/FKWSYdDTjfU/s320/judy,dee+and+kylie.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248657080948405922" />

Ten Months Old

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SNbv45udv9I/AAAAAAAAAO8/VC7HSZP2qXo/s200/Kierstin+10+mo..jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248646176594313170" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SNbv0ljDiEI/AAAAAAAAAO0/4aocq626aEY/s200/Kylie+10+mo..jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248646102458271810" />

My mom brought over an outfit that I had worn when I was about 10 months old. I'm backtracking because I want to try turning this blog into a memory book. That should also explain the occasional cheesiness associated with some of these blogs.

The weekend of the 24th we planned our first annual Mills camp out. We spent the weekend at Cub River, Idaho. We ate Dave's delicious dutch oven meals and Christie's sinfully good sweet rolls. We all hiked up to Spring Meadows for a short hike and played silly campfire games while sitting in Ryan and Michelle's outdoor Love Sak. Grandma and Grandpa Mills brought everyone a liter of Coke, mentoes and pipe for a competition to see who's would sky rocket the best in the air. Dave's design looked pretty promising but a mento had snuck through before we were ready and caught us off guard for 2nd place. Grandma and Grandpa Mills gave us an impressive demonstration that swept the competition. We had a great time and it was nice to see all the non-campers "roughen it."

Kylie's First Campout

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_5mw3DjrG1q8/SI_MmOFmJhI/AAAAAAAAANo/A0_ICbDwu24/s400/IMG_2586.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5228622649389098514" />Everyone warned us that camping with a baby was not going to be easy. However, our expectations were so low due to the warnings that it ended up not being half bad. It helped that we went with the Benoits who have adopted Kylie as one of there own so we always had helping hands. The Benoits are marvelous people who have taken us under there wing. They invited us to the Uinitas for 2 nights of camping and four wheeling. They brought the toys and we brought the food. Dave made some amazing dutch oven meals; ribs, green pepper, onion and bacon potatoes, and Apple Spice cobbler. He also made an impressive loaded breakfast burrito by just boiling it all in a plastic bag. Yummo! How could we go wrong with a menu like that.

Kylie did well for her first time camping. She has always struggled with sleeping anywhere other than her own bed so we knew she was going to be up during the night. She woke up as many times as she would regularly out of her own bed, as if we were indoors, so we felt like it was a success. Kylie shared a sleeping bad right next to the biggest heater in the world, her Dad. Dave sacrificed the most by not moving an inch throughout the night so he wouldn't wake up Kylie. The nights were cold but we were in 20 degree sleeping bags which helped. On our way out of town, Dave was talking with a forest ranger and he mentioned it reached 33 degrees on our last night stay.

The camping trip resulted in a slower pace but we all enjoyed it.
Dave kept mentioning that we had a successful trip because I didn't say I would never go camping again. Now that's what I call success!

4th of July

The 4th of July was fantastic with new made memories. I had wanted to show Dave off to many of my Sandy friends for years and I finally had my chance. We headed down to Sandy to the ever famous and quite lengthy Granite parade. Dave was able to meet friends that he had only heard about and probably thought they were imaginary at this point. Later that day Michelle's family (Ryan's wife) came over to visit and then we went up as a family to Big Cottonwood canyon for a picnic. My Grandma Mills from Burley was able to join us which made it extra special. We played games, ate too much, and tried not to melt in the sweltering heat. In the evening we watched fireworks in the front and then watched them from the ridge in the back. It was a nice change of pace and as always good to be with family.

Chili Mac

Have you ever heard of Chili Mac? I hadn't until I met David Auger. We were driving to Pocatello one weekend and Dave started talking about how good Chili Mac was. I had never heard of the combination and surely thought I wasn't alone. A wager was on the line and I was betting that most people would not know of the crazy combination. We stopped at a rest stop and I approached an older sales clerk with my bizarre question of whether he had heard of Chili Mac. With a big smile on his face he claimed not only had he heard about it but that it was quite good. This bet was not looking good.

Our pantry was looking a little scarce so I decided to try Chili-Mac. Dave thought it was a monumental moment and stated jokingly that we should take a picture. With a comment like that I couldn't help but grab my camera and take a picture. Dave was thrilled about our dinner and pointed out that our meal only cost $2.00 and stated that he could even "taste the sweet savings." Chili Mac was not all that bad but I don't think I'll venture out for awhile unless my pantry gets the best of us.

15 Reasons to Eat Macaroni and Cheese (without the Chili):

You can still eat it after you lose your teeth.

Some brands glow in the dark for romantic meals.

The noodles don't have feelings (not really).

You can store it in your cheeks for between meal snacks.

Protects your fall if you nod off at the dinner table.

Doesn’t taste like brussel sprouts.

Grows mold very slowly.

You can tell small children it’s yellow candy.

If you hold it to years you can hear the wind rustling through the cheese fields.

Contains no cheese!

Ideal for that new Pasta and Cheddar Diet plan.

Vegetarian! I have dreamed about someday having my own home, planting a garden and a few flower pots and raising kids. Well my dreams are coming true. I bought a flower pot and called my mom because she is an expert homemaker and gardener. She went through the Master Gardener program and has always been a good one to call for advice. She came up from Sandy and helped me plant the pot shown above. Of course we had to take a picture of the two of us due to the occasion. My mom and I couldn't help but laugh of how ridiculous we looked taking pictures slammed up against the house next to a flower pot. Out of all the years my mom has gardened she had never taken a picture next to her good work. Leave it to me to be the first to be excited about taking a picture next to a flower pot.
I had so much fun planting flowers I decided I must start a garden. During Kylie's naps I would pull weeds and till our rock garden as fast as I could before she would wake up. I'm sure anyone observing would think I was trying to set a new record for the fastest garden planted. I read all the directions and even took out a ruler to measure making sure our garden would have the best possible chance of survival. I planted cucumbers, squash, peas, chives, strawberries, and red and green peppers. I was not sure how many to plant so I just used all the seeds. Apparently that is a lot by the response I have received from others. I now love talking about gardening and find it amusing to discover the tricks of the trade. I'm already calling myself a gardener.

Fishing Hats

Last weekend we spent Friday night with the Jones. Nate just bought Dave's dream fishing boat so Dave and I decided that we needed special fishing hats for the occasion. We have been searching everywhere we go in pursuit of crazy hats that even the fish will giggle at. We found a couple that we liked and decided to show them off to the Jones showing our preparation for our future fishing trips. So it hit me... lets play SCUM and use these hats according to how well we are doing in the game. Genius! So that's exactly what we did. We tried so hard to make our men be in a position in the game to where the silliest hats. What a riot! We had so much fun I felt like I was back in high school playing silly games. We had a great time and it is now going to be difficult not to play SCUM without wearing HATS.

Orienteering

Our little family packed up and headed for the mountains to set up an Orienteering course for Dave's boyscout camp out on May 10th. Dave had been working diligently on getting his scouts to get an Orienteering merit badge. Kylie and I decided that we didn't want to miss out on all the fun so we came along. We drove up to the resort and it was raining so we had a picnic in the car and then ventured out just in time for the rain to stop. Dave had placed candy in containers as "treasures" to be found throughout the campsite and confirmed the destination with a GPS tracking system. Dave had Kylie in a front pack so I was the one who snuck in between trees and cobwebs to make sure the scouts couldn't find there prize easily. We had previously discovered it was the Scout Masters birthday so Dave made the final destination dedicated to celebrating his birthday. The final "treasure" was filled with candles and his favorite treat that his wife had provided. The leader was completely surprised and from what I heard it seemed like a fun and successful scout trip. It was a small thing but I loved being a little part of Dave's calling and making fun memories.

Digital Scrapbook World

I'm considering getting into digital scrapbooking. I now realize that for the next several decades I'm going to have limited time to do anything. Yet I would like to capture what is taking up all my time. It seems there must be a way to collide both digital scrapbooking and blogging. Any ideas? If some of my blogs seem a little up in the clouds in the future it will be because I plan on using the blog as a scrapbook/journal as well. Why not do two things at once. I think its a mom's duty anyways to discover the fine art of multi-tasking. ;) If you have come across a digital scrapbooking company that you feel is particular good to work with please let me know. So I'm reading Brittany's and Rachel's blog and at the end they both tag me! Here's the questions they asked. What is his name? David Owen Auger aka "Bucko." Recently as I was talking to Dave right before we went to bed and he leans over in the middle of our conversation and says "Okay, Bucko." What in the world? Where did that come from? Now I can't resist but call him "Bucko."

How long have we been together? 3 years, married 2.

How long did we date? About a year. We were set up by my inspired roommate Stephanie Slater Farwell. Dave met Stephanie at Goblin Valley at my singles ward camp out. I was working that weekend and couldn't go. Dave didn't know Stephanie and was hesitant to be set up so he asked a few guys around him for a reference I happened to have gone out with all of them. What luck! Stephanie came back from the trip and told me she had met my match. I was hesitant just having gone through a break-up and told her not to push it forward unless he calls on his own. Dave called a few days later and asked me out. We ended up doubling with Joel and Liz Jacobson and went out for pizza and played pool.

How old is he? 34

Who eats more? Dave. I once asked him if he wanted to split a meal and he said "Kierstin, I'm 6'6" I don't split meals." I've haven't asked since.

Who said "I love you" first? We both can't remember. How's that for romantic. I'm pretty sure it was Dave I just can't remember the setting.

Who is smarter? Dave is he picked me right! Ha ha ;)

Who does the laundry and dishes? Mostly I do but Dave is good about helping out around the house. I couldn't do it without his help!

Who mows the lawn? Dave has been trying to trick me into doing it but he's done it 100% of the time. Hallelujah!

Who pays the bills? We both do. When it comes in the mail whoever sees it first pays it.

Who cooks the meals? I do. Dave's good on the BBQ and I'm the inside Chef.

Who drives when you are together? Dave.

Who is more stubborn? I think that we both think each other is more stubborn. Depends on what it is.

Who kissed who first? Dave's the mover and shaker. I could tell he wanted to kiss me on a previous date but I wasn't ready and I thought if he was interested he would have to wait. On one of our dates we went hiking and at the top of a waterfall I could tell he wanted to kiss me. I felt like a little school girl and had the jitters as if it were my first kiss. I had been on a few dates with Dave but didn't know his intentions. (Apparently he had some!) I ended up giving him the green light and Dave went for it. I'm sure Dave would love to tell you that I made the moves but I know otherwise.

Who proposed? Dave proposed by leaving a nice note and flowers in my car after work. He had forgotten his wallet because he was so nervous and asked me to pay for dinner. We went for a stroll in the park before we headed to dinner and he asked me to marry him. It happened so fast I was taken back so I told him to get back on his knee and tell me why he wanted to marry me. I delightfully accepted and then we headed for pizza where we had our first date. We now laugh (Dave laughs the hardest) that I had to flip the bill on the night we got engaged.

Who has more siblings? Dave has 1 sister and 5 brothers and I have 3 brothers.

Who wares the pants in the family? Dave thinks he does.

Dave is such a wonderful husband and father. I got more than what I bargained for. I am so blessed to have him in my life.

Tag: Emily, Heidi, and my sister-in-laws!

First Time Mom

I like to use the excuse "Oh, I'm a first time mom." One night at the Jones, Rachel was holding Kylie so I could feed her some rice cereal. Kylie and mom were just getting used to the idea of her eating solids. Rachel held Kylie while I attempted to feed her. As I went in I managed to fling cereal in her eye following with cereal up her nose in a matter of seconds. It seemed the only place I was having trouble getting food into was her mouth. Of course, I used the excuse, "Oh, I'm a first time mom."

I have been reading about introducing babies to new foods. They recommend allowing the child to discover new textures and tastes by giving them there independence and allowing them to touch and feel there food. So, I tried it. I'm a first time mom, right. I could give it a try. Kylie was in heaven and it became a food fight in the kitchen with splats of green beans all over the floor and cabinets. It was a total mess and for some odd reason I felt like a good mom. I had allowed my child to discover what she had yet never discovered before. However, now we are trying to re-teach her not to use her hands when eating and food fights are only on occasion. What am I teaching her? "Oh, I'm a first time mom."

When I first started feeding Kylie rice cereal it was difficult to keep it all in. Sometimes it felt as if she was wearing more than she was eating. Kylie quickly learned that her bib has a gold mine of food just waiting for her if she wanted more. All she did was lean over and lick her bib as if she was at an all you can eat buffet. So when I heard they were coming to SLC I couldn't resist the opportunity to try out. Michelle (my sister-in-law) and I stood in line for 7 1/2 hours to get a 20 second interview with Howie's Helpers. The time actually went by fast as we filled out questionnaires, talked with other people who were as crazy as we were, and snuck out of line to pump while our husbands watched the kids. The energy was high and it is was fun to see how the process all worked. So Michelle and I interviewed with 10 other people giving our 20 second spiel on why we should be on Deal or No Deal. After the interview the girl picked 3 people to move on. I couldn't believe it. They picked me! Michelle wasn't able to move on and I felt like telling them we were a team. However, we both knew if either of us were picked we were going to the show together. They then asked for another 20 second interview and I got the okay to move on again. Wow, was I excited! I couldn't contain myself and I called Dave to inform him I had made it to the last interview. I waited for 10 others to be picked and interviewed with one of the directors having only 10 seconds to sell myself. I spoke so fast and furious I'm not sure the guy understood one thing I said. Later I discovered that 10,000 people had waited in line to get on the show. Nevertheless, Howie hasn't called yet but the entire experience was well worth the wait.

To much fun with Great Grandma

Meeting Great Grandma for the first time

Manicures, Pedicures & Paraffin Wax

Dave, Kylie and I went up to Burley to celebrate my grandma's 85th birthday in April. Kylie and her Great Grandmother met for the first time. It was so much fun to see the interaction between them. We spent the weekend watching the Jazz game, manicuring, eating too much, and trying to fix a few odds and ends around her house. On her birthday we took her to Upper Crust Bakery for lunch which is in connection with Gossner Cheese. We slipped a hint to our waitress and she came out with Pecan Pie and a cheese hat for Grandma to wear as we sang Happy Birthday. Grandma attempted to feed Kylie her first taste of ice cream. After a few resisted attempts I ended up swatting her spoon full of ice cream that barely missed the person at the next table. Afterwords we visited grandpa's grave and then headed back home having made some great memories with grandma.

10 things you must know about Effie Mills:

1. We giggle the entire time and always eat more than we should. This year we went to Macaroni Grill for dinner and tried on every pair of shoes at Dillard's and then went out for ice cream at Cold Stone for dessert. (Yes, Mark is still single and you too can be apart of this girls night out). This year was my favorite girls night out of all time. I think shopping and a good dessert always brings people closer. I liked this girls night particularly well because I was able to share how much I love my mother and to tell her how grateful I am for her and all the love and sacrifice she has shown to me. It was so nice to reminisce about old memories and talk about how we want to be as mothers in the future. I feel so blessed to have my mother and sister-in-laws as friends.

Eat Meat Sparingly

 Dave came home from work one day and announced he had purchased a half of cow. On October 3 we picked up and bought a deep freeze from our neighbor the night before Kylie was born. Ever since this monumental moment Dave has been dreaming of filling it up with his favorite foods. Now that we have so much beef we have dedicated each day to a particular meat. We have Taco Tuesdays, Round Roast Wednesdays, T-Bone Thrusdays, and Sirloin Sundays. Dave hasn't stopped smiling since.

The Auger Bloggers

Wowee! Kierstin and Kylie went to Target and got some 6 month pictures. It was so much fun we will have to share those pictures with you later. Yesterday (I swear) Kylie said dada in the middle of saying yaya, wawa, gaga she slipped in a dada when daddy was messin with the BBQ. Anyways we can't wait for you to come visit and see how much she has changed. She learns new tricks everyday and it is so fun to watch her grow.
